Goal:

Specific objectives:

2-Improve and adapt COPABASE's collective agro-industrial enterprise, ensuring greater efficiency and scale for access to new markets.

Project: EXPANSION OF THE PRODUCTION AND MARKETING OF PRODUCTS IN AGROEXTRACTIVE CHAINS IN THE URUCUIA GRANDE SERTÃO TERRITORY

Main goal:
Expand and improve the structure of the cooperative enterprise with a view to boosting the production, processing and marketing of agroextractive products from the Urucuia Grande Sertão Territory.
Specific objectives:
1-Structuring the enterprise aiming at safety and increasing the production, processing and storage capacity of the benefited products with cost reduction through technological innovation.
2-Structuring the ability to market the products benefited by the cooperative
3-Organize and expand the insertion of agroextractivist products into new markets, Fair and Solidarity Trade circuits based on the construction of strategic partnerships with Solidarity Commercialization Fixed Points, Fairs, Commercialization Centers and gastronomic spaces.
4-Diagnose and qualify production processes and products with a view to strengthening agro-extractivists to expand production.

Project: SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION PRACTICES AS PROMOTERS OF BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION IN THE URUCUIAN Hinterlands

Main goal:
Promote the diversification of agroextractive production with sustainable management through the collective structuring of families within the Cooperative of Sustainable Family Agriculture based on the Solidarity Economy – COPABASE covering the region of the Urucuia River basin, one of the main tributaries of the São Francisco.
Specific objectives:
Disseminate sustainable technologies and practices for agroextractive production, food security and socioeconomic organization in the regions of the Urucuia and Grande Sertão valleys.
Develop actions to promote, preserve and conserve the biodiversity of the Urucuiano cerrado through the involvement of rural families, ADRS and a network of partner organizations.

Encouraging young people aged between 15 and 26 to work in activities that would encourage them to stay in the countryside, with improved income through the diversification of economic ventures aimed at family farming and agroecological base.
The participants were children of family farmers in the municipalities of Arinos, Uruana de Minas and Riachinho, in the Urucuia Grande Sertão region, in the Northwest of Minas Gerais, and students of the Instituto Federal Norte de Minas Campus with a vocation for rural work and with the partnership of the IFNMG Campus Arinos in the implementation of the project and in the monitoring of productive activities, with the help of teachers in training, research and extension activities.

Project : REDES ECOFORTE Nº 2014/005 REDE UAI VALE DO URUCUIA - Productive Agroecology Network

Goal:
Insertion of new agroecological, organic and extractive network production practices based on the implementation of Mobile and Fixed Reference Units, alongside 53 families in 30 network communities, with the aim of disseminating knowledge on agroecology topics, areas of biodiversity and productive areas and offering products for the PNAE market in the region and beyond.
Lectures in 21 schools in the territory in training through workshops for educators, cooks and students on food and nutrition from the National School Feeding Program in the lives of families in the family community and the school community, considering an active action by members of the network, and having as main support the implementation of the IFNMG Campus Arinos, which in addition to providing teachers for training as a counterpart, also supports a regional discussion of the network.

2 - Training of communities on Spring Recovery and Environmental Preservation of the Cerrado;

5 - Technical assistance with families focused on environmental experiences.

Results:
Enclosure of 151 springs and implantation of 44 seedling nurseries, all with the participation of the owners and involvement of local communities and beneficiaries, where they are responsible for monitoring and care for the maintenance of the fence.
Around 50,000 seedlings were planted in the nurseries, among the following species: umbu, buriti, ingá, guava, mastic, tingui, acerola, baru, passion fruit, sugar apple, ipê, cashew, tamarind, guariroba, mangaba, among many others. These seedlings were under the care of the interest group that ran the nurseries, so they were donated and planted on their properties, at the springs and riverbanks.

Focus on diversifying family farming and extractivism for honey production in the cerrado, reserves and riparian forests in the region, through inputs, training, marketing and processing of production, fair and organic trade with a public of 150 beekeepers among cooperative and non-cooperative members in the municipalities of Arinos, Bonfinópolis de Minas, Buritis, Chapada Gaúcha, Pintópolis, Riachinho, Urucuia, Uruana de Minas.
